You know what always burns my butt about the elections? It’s the griping that goes on afterwards when a candidate doesn’t win and some person is telling you about it. Then you inquire to see if they voted and they didn’t! What do I tell them — if you don’t vote then you don’t get an opinion.
I’m not telling you anything that you don’t already know, we live in a country that gives us the opportunity to put into office who we, that’s right who we want in office. We don’t live under a dictatorship nor are we threaten by a party if we don’t vote their way. We are free to vote how we want.
One of the most important elections is coming up in just a few weeks that our nation has ever had. I’m not going to tell you who to vote for, but I am telling you that you need to vote. Your voice counts! If collectively everyone that thinks otherwise would vote, what a change they would make…good, bad or indifferent, but they made a change.
Our industry, the construction industry, needs the government to make a change. A change that would make the housing market once again a long time investment for young adults. That it would be known as still a good investment and will be in the future. Not an investment to flip for quick cash, but an investment that would have long time growth.
Take a few moments and go to a couple of industry leaders and see what they have to say about the candidates and who is going to work for our industry. NFIB, (National Federation of Independent Business) and NAHB, (National Association of Home Builders) have both expressed a lot of opinions on the candidates. Visit their sites and reach you own conclusion and then GO VOTE! Because if you don’t I don’t want to hear your griping when it’s all said and done.
